About MAJOR

MAJOR is an EdTech startup building the first education-based social media and learning platform in Algeria. Our mission is to transform the way students, teachers, and schools connect, learn, and grow. We're launching MAJOR 2.0 this year, and we need a strong People foundation to scale our impact.


Mission

As our HR & People Operations Intern, you will play a key role in setting the HR standards of the company. You'll help us structure our people processes, from recruitment and onboarding to performance reporting and company culture.

This is not just an administrative role — you'll be shaping the employee experience and culture of a growing startup.


Responsibilities

Draft and document HR policies (attendance, work hours, leave, expense reimbursement).

Create the Employee Handbook and maintain HR documentation.

Manage and improve recruitment processes: job postings, screening, interviews.

Build and execute a structured onboarding plan for new hires.

Set up and maintain the employee database (roles, contracts, attendance, leaves).

Support in defining basic KPIs and reporting systems for each department.

Organize team rituals (all-hands, team-building, feedback sessions).

Assist in creating a positive and engaging work culture.


What You'll Learn / Gain

First-hand experience in building HR from scratch in a startup.

Exposure to Sales, Tech, Marketing, and Product teams.

A portfolio of tangible HR deliverables (policies, onboarding, databases, systems).

A chance to transition into a permanent HR role at MAJOR after the internship.


Profile We're Looking For

Student in HR, Management, or related field.

Some prior exposure or minimal experience in how HR works in companies (internship, coursework, or projects).

Organized, structured, and detail-oriented.

Strong communication skills .

Good with Google Sheets/Excel, Clickup (or eager to learn).

Curious about startup culture and adaptable to fast-changing environments.
