Role Overview
The American International School of Algiers (AISA) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive
Facilities Coordinator/Driver
to support the daily operations of our campus and housing. This hybrid role is central to ensuring that the school's facilities, off-site housing, and operational logistics are maintained to the highest standard.
The Facilities Coordinator/Driver is responsible for coordinating maintenance, liaising with vendors, managing teacher and director housing, and handling school paperwork and errands (e.g., banking, government offices, suppliers).
Primary Responsibilities
1. Facilities Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for all on-campus maintenance and facilities issues.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility upgrades.
- Perform regular walkthroughs of campus and outdoor areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness for students and staff.
- Oversee cleaning staff and ensure standards are consistently met.
- Track and maintain facility-related documentation (service schedules, warranties, logs).
- Maintain school inventory (furniture, learning materials) and report issues or replacement needs to Administration promptly.
2. Off-Site Housing Coordination
- Manage the maintenance and readiness of off-site teacher and director housing, including check-in/check-out inspections, coordinating repairs, and liaising with landlords.
- Support new teacher arrivals by preparing apartments, ensuring utilities and Wi-Fi are functioning, and coordinating welcome packages.
- Maintain a housing inventory (furniture, appliances, keys) and report issues promptly to the administration.
3. Logistics & Paperwork Support
- Handle regular school-related errands, including banking, tax and CNAS/CASNOS paperwork, and purchasing.
- Submit and collect official documentation from government offices and service providers as needed.
- Maintain organized records of receipts, forms, and related documentation for Finance and HR teams.
4. Arrival, Dismissal & Supervisory Support
- Serve as lead support for student arrival and dismissal, helping to ensure smooth and safe operations at the gate and in common areas.
- Provide valuable support for the admin and teaching team with student supervision as needed, especially during transitions, recess, and special events.
5. Vehicle Maintenance & Errands
- Maintain the school vehicle in safe working condition, scheduling regular servicing and inspections.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and available for school errands and deliveries.
- Support airport pickups or deliveries of materials as occasionally required (not primary responsibility).
6. Safety & Security Support
- Conduct basic safety checks (fire extinguishers, exits, gates) and report concerns promptly.
- Assist in supervising campus guard teams to ensure 24/7 coverage and compliance with security procedures.
- Support emergency drills and readiness planning.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities coordination, maintenance, logistics, or a related field
- Valid driver's license
with clean driving record
- Basic mechanical or technical skills for minor repairs and troubleshooting
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and coordinate small projects
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Conversational English preferred; Arabic and/or French required
Work Conditions
This is a full-time, on-site position based at AISA's campus in Ben Aknoun, Algiers.
