Senior Reservoir Engineer / Algeria

Job Summary:

The
Senior Reservoir Engineer
will lead
reservoir engineering studies, field development planning, and production optimization
for our oil and gas assets in Algeria. This role is responsible for
maximizing hydrocarbon recovery, conducting advanced reservoir simulations, and providing technical expertise
to support field development strategies. The ideal candidate will have
hands-on experience in Algerian fields
and a strong background in
reservoir modeling, performance analysis, and integrated reservoir management
.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reservoir Simulation & Modeling

• Develop and maintain
  dynamic reservoir models
  using industry-leading software (e.g.,
  Eclipse, INTERSECT, Petrel RE
  ).
• Perform
  reservoir simulation studies
  to evaluate recovery mechanisms (e.g., waterflooding, gas injection, EOR).
• Integrate
  geological, geophysical, and production data
  to refine models and improve reservoir performance predictions.

2. Field Development & Production Optimization

• Lead
  reservoir engineering input
  for field development plans (FDPs), including well placement, production strategies, and economic evaluations.
• Optimize
  reservoir depletion strategies
  to maximize recovery and profitability.
• Collaborate with
  drilling, production, and operations teams
  to align reservoir engineering with field execution.

3. Production Forecasting & Economic Analysis

• Generate
  short-term and long-term production forecasts
  using probabilistic and deterministic methods.
• Conduct
  economic evaluations
  (NPV, ROI, sensitivity analysis) to support investment decisions.
• Assess
  reservoir performance trends
  (e.g., water cut, GOR) and recommend interventions (e.g., workovers, stimulations).

4. Reservoir Surveillance & Monitoring

• Monitor
  reservoir performance
  through production data, pressure surveys, and well tests.
• Analyze
  well performance and reservoir behavior
  to identify optimization opportunities.
• Design and interpret
  well tests
  (e.g., pressure transient analysis, PLT) to assess reservoir connectivity.

5. Integrated Reservoir Management

• Work closely with
  geoscientists, production engineers, and operations
  to develop integrated reservoir management plans.
• Provide
  technical recommendations
  for reservoir management committees and field reviews.
• Ensure reservoir engineering practices align with
  operational constraints and business objectives
  .

6. Technical Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare
  technical reports, presentations, and recommendations
  for management and stakeholders.
• Document
  reservoir studies, simulations, and development plans
  in compliance with company and
  Algerian regulatory standards
  (e.g., Sonatrach guidelines).
• Support
  regulatory filings and audits
  related to reservoir management.

7. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing

• Mentor
  junior reservoir engineers
  and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
• Lead or participate in
  technical workshops, peer reviews, and training initiatives
  .
• Promote
  innovation and best practices
  in reservoir engineering.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Master's or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering
  .
• SPE membership or relevant certifications
  are a plus.

Experience:

• 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience
  , with a
  strong preference for candidates with experience in Algerian oil and gas fields
  .
• Proven expertise in
  reservoir simulation, field development planning, and production forecasting
  .
• Familiarity with
  Algerian operational standards and Sonatrach practices
  is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

• Reservoir simulation software
  : Eclipse, INTERSECT, Petrel RE.
• Production forecasting and economic evaluation tools
  (e.g., Peeps, Aries).
• Well test analysis and pressure transient interpretation
  .
• Data analytics and visualization
  (Python, Spotfire, or Power BI is a plus).
