Employee Relations Officer


The Employee Relations Officer is responsible for fostering positive employee relations by promoting a fair, respectful, and productive work environment. The role supports the implementation of HR policies and procedures, provides guidance to employees and managers on employee relations matters, ensures compliance with labor laws and company policies, and delivers efficient HR services throughout the employee lifecycle. The Employee Relations Officer also contributes to employee engagement initiatives, conflict resolution, and continuous improvement of HR service delivery to enhance employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness.


Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

Foster positive relationships between employees and management to promote a collaborative and productive workplace.

Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on employee relations matters, company policies, and employment practices.

Address employee concerns, grievances, and workplace conflicts promptly, professionally, and confidentially.

Conduct preliminary investigations into employee relations issues and recommend appropriate resolutions.

Promote fair, transparent, and customer-focused people practices across the organization.

HR Operations & Employee Services

Administer HR services accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of service quality.

Execute employee lifecycle transactions, including:

Onboarding and induction

Offboarding and exit processes

Leave administration

Personal information updates

Medical insurance administration

Employee reimbursements

Business letter preparation

HR ticket management

Responding to employee HR inquiries (Ask HR)

Ensure all HR transactions are completed within established service level agreements (SLAs).

Employee Records Management

Prepare, maintain, and manage employee files throughout the employment lifecycle.

Ensure all employee records and documentation are accurate, complete, confidential, and maintained in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

Maintain accurate HR data within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and ERP platforms.

Policy Administration & Compliance

Interpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations to employees and managers.

Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Stay informed of changes in employment legislation and organizational policies and support their implementation.

Assist in policy reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Employee Engagement

Support employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives.

Participate in programs designed to improve employee satisfaction, morale, and retention.

Gather employee feedback and identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience.

Promote a positive organizational culture aligned with company values.

Reporting & Administration

Prepare HR reports, employee metrics, and documentation as required.

Monitor employee relations trends and recommend improvements to HR practices.

Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive HR matters.

Support HR audits and compliance reviews.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)

Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Energy (HSE&E), Quality Management (QM), and Integrated Management System (IMS) policies and procedures.

Support the implementation of HSE initiatives and participate in safety awareness programs.

Contribute to incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions where applicable.

Promote a safe and responsible workplace environment.


Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related field.

Professional HR certifications (e.g., CIPD, SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) are considered an advantage.


Experience

Minimum 5 years of professional work experience.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in employee relations, HR operations, or human resources.

As a plus: experience working with HRIS and ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Experience in employee lifecycle administration and HR service delivery.
