Role Description The Information Technology Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Algiers. This position is responsible for overseeing the school’s IT infrastructure, including maintaining hardware and software, managing user accounts, and ensuring reliable access to network resources. The coordinator provides day-to-day technical support to staff and students, troubleshoots system and device issues, and escalates complex problems when needed. The role includes monitoring network performance and security, coordinating with vendors and service providers, and assisting with the planning and implementation of technology initiatives that support teaching, learning, and administrative operations.
Primary
Responsibilities:
1. Devices & Infrastructure
• Manage the school's inventory of devices — laptops, tablets, desktops, printers, projectors, and audio-visual equipment — including setup, maintenance, repairs, and replacement cycles.
• Maintain the school's network, Wi-Fi, servers, and internet connectivity, coordinating with service providers as needed.
• Prepare and image devices for new staff and students, and manage returns and reassignments.
• Keep an accurate, up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment and peripherals.
• Support classroom and event technology, including sound systems, projection, and video conferencing. 2. Subscriptions, Accounts & Systems
• Manage the school's software subscriptions and licenses — educational platforms, productivity suites, and administrative systems — including renewals, budgeting input, and vendor contact.
• Administer user accounts and access across school systems, including onboarding and offboarding of staff and students.
• Evaluate new tools and subscriptions, recommending cost-effective solutions that serve teaching and operations.
• Maintain clear documentation of systems, credentials, licenses, and procedures. 3. Support, Security & Safeguarding
• Provide prompt, friendly technical support to teachers, staff, and students, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Train and support staff in using school technology and platforms effectively.
• Implement and maintain data protection, backups, antivirus, and content filtering appropriate for a school environment.
• Support safe and responsible technology use by students, in line with school policies.
• Uphold safety standards, including required annual safeguarding training. 4. Planning & Collaboration
• Advise school leadership on technology planning, budgeting, and purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with the ICT teacher and classroom teachers to support technology integration in learning.
• Plan ahead for renewals, upgrades, and the school's growing technology needs.
• Contribute to school-wide events, initiatives, and a positive professional culture. Qualifications
• Ability to apply strong analytical skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve technology-related issues.
• Knowledge of information technology systems, including operating systems, educational software, and basic cybersecurity practices.
• Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting for end users in an office or school environment.
• Skills in network administration, including managing wired and wireless networks, user access, and system updates.
• Relevant post-secondary education or certification in IT, computer science, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and documentation.
• Effective communication skills in English; additional language skills are an asset.
• Ability to collaborate with educators and administrators and to support technology use in teaching and learning.
