Job Description
Role Overview
The American International School of Algiers (AISA) seeks a warm, energetic, and growth-minded
Teaching Assistant
to support our students and teachers in creating a joyful, safe, and highly engaging learning environment. This role prioritizes
attitude, reliability, and a love of working with children
.
Primary Responsibilities
Classroom Support
Assist lead teachers with learning activities, stations, small-group work, and transitions.
Prepare, tidy, and organize learning materials and classrooms daily.
Student Supervision & Care
Actively supervise students during arrival/dismissal, recess, lunch, hallways, and field trips.
Model positive behavior and support students in social–emotional skills.
Learning & Inclusion
Offer encouragement and one-to-one help so every child can participate and succeed.
Follow teacher guidance to support students with different learning needs.
Communication & Teamwork
Communicate clearly and kindly with students, families (when asked), and colleagues.
Participate in trainings and be open to feedback and coaching.
Operations Support
Help with photocopying, laminating, organizing supplies, preparing materials for lessons, and event setup and light clean up when necessary.

Qualifications
- Attitude and values are most important; prior school experience is a plus but not required.
- High school diploma required; relevant coursework or degree a plus.
- Strong spoken English desired; Arabic and/or French an advantage.
- Basic computer/office skills (email, printing, Google Drive) preferred.
Work Conditions
- Full-time, on-site in Ben Aknoun, Algiers.
- Salary: Competitive, commensurate with profile.

- Schedule: 9 AM-5 PM, with occasional support for events.
- Start Date: As soon as possible; by November 15 at the latest.
