Business Manager - Commercial&Operations

ABB Energy Industries is enabling safe, smart and sustainable projects and operations for businesses across the oil, gas, chemicals, life sciences, power generation and water sectors. In this role, you will lead the Process Automation – Energy Industries Division located in Hydra, Algiers, Algeria, managing a $20M business unit with around 50 employees. You will be the local strategic and operational leader of this local Division, reporting to Local Division Manager of the Italian Cluster of Energy Industries who is located in Italy. Your focus will be on driving profitable growth and delivering strong operational performance across all aspects of this Local Division. Your leadership will contribute to enhancing forecasting, planning, and financial controlling tools, ensuring the business is aligned with ABB's commitment to smart, safe, and sustainable energy solutions. By driving operational efficiency and adapting innovative digital technologies, you will help position the Energy Industries Division as a key player in the region's energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the execution of regional and global division strategy while providing local inputs and insights, with a focus on innovation, Service, and Digital
  • Prioritizing and implementing business plans to drive profitability and growth in alignment with strategic objectives
  • Collaborating proactively with the HUB team and other Local Divisions to contribute to HUB-wide results and shared targets
  • Ensuring strong financial management and delivering against all major KPIs, including Orders, Order Gross Profit, Revenue, OpEBITA, Cash, and NWC
  • Developing the Automation market locally while expanding the drives, motors, and electrical business
  • Building a strong local team by engaging, inspiring, and motivating employees through transparent and open leadership
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure long-term satisfaction and business continuity
  • Driving operational excellence across all offerings and processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost optimization
  • Applying shared development models with decentralized engineering centers to improve project delivery and scalability
  • Reviewing organizational effectiveness, performing competence assessments, and continuously upgrading team skills in line with business needs and ABB values

Qualifications:

  • You proven track record in business development, strategic planning, and driving improvements in the Automation Solutions market
  • You have more than 5 years of relevant managerial experience -preferably with Profit & Loss responsibility- in Automation Solutions for markets such as Water, Power Generation, Chemical & Refining and with solid knowledge of these markets
  • You possess proven leadership experience as a manager of managers, with full profit and loss responsibility
  • You are strongly focused on customer needs, results, and quality, with proficient experience in sales and marketing
  • You have a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Business Administration
  • You have strong communication, influencing, coaching, and leadership skills, with a multicultural and people-oriented approach
  • You are fluent in English, and speak French and Arabic as native languages
