Job Summary:
The
Logistics Coordinator
will
plan, coordinate, and oversee logistics operations
for our
Oil & Gas operations in Algeria
, ensuring the
timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of equipment, materials, and personnel
to support upstream, midstream, and downstream activities. This role is critical to maintaining
operational continuity, supply chain efficiency, and compliance with local regulations
(e.g., Algerian customs, import/export laws, and HSE standards).

Key Responsibilities:
1. Logistics Planning & Coordination
Plan and schedule
logistics operations for
Oil & Gas projects
, including:
- Equipment and material transportation
(onshore). - Personnel mobilization
(expatriates, contractors, field teams). - Warehousing and inventory management
(spare parts, consumables, tools).
Coordinate with procurement, operations, and HSE teams
to align logistics with project timelines and operational needs.
2. Customs & Import/Export Compliance
- Ensure compliance with
Algerian customs regulations
(e.g.,
Law 06-03, import/export permits
). - Prepare and submit documentation
for customs clearance (e.g., invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin). - Liaise with
customs brokers, freight forwarders, and Algerian authorities
to avoid delays and penalties.
3. Vendor & Transport Management
- Manage relationships with logistics providers
(e.g., trucking, shipping, aviation, and freight companies). - Negotiate contracts and rates
for transportation and warehousing services. - Monitor vendor performance
(delivery times, cost efficiency, compliance).
4. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Track and manage inventory
of critical materials, equipment, and spare parts. - Coordinate warehousing operations
, including receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. - Conduct regular audits
to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
5. HSE & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure
logistics operations comply with HSE standards
(e.g.,
Sonatrach guidelines, Algerian labor laws
). - Implement safe handling and transportation practices
for hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, drilling fluids). - Coordinate with HSE teams
to conduct risk assessments and safety briefings for logistics personnel.
6. Emergency & Contingency Planning
- Develop
contingency plans
for logistics disruptions (e.g., port delays, customs issues, political instability). - Coordinate emergency logistics
(e.g., rapid mobilization of personnel/equipment for critical operations). - Monitor geopolitical and operational risks
affecting supply chains in Algeria.
7. Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise with internal teams
(operations, procurement, HSE, finance) to align logistics with project needs. - Communicate with external stakeholders
(customs, vendors, contractors, government agencies). - Prepare reports and updates
on logistics performance, costs, and risks for management.
8. Digital Tools & Process Improvement
- Utilize
logistics software
(e.g., ERP, TMS, SAP) for tracking shipments, inventory, and costs. - Automate and digitize logistics processes
(e.g., e-customs, GPS tracking, digital documentation). - Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
in the supply chain.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
. - Certifications in logistics, customs, or supply chain management
(e.g., CILT, CSCP) are a plus.
Experience:
- 7+ years of logistics coordination experience
, preferably in
Oil & Gas, energy, or industrial sectors
. - Experience with Algerian customs, import/export procedures, and local regulations
is
highly preferred
. - Familiarity with HSE standards and hazardous material handling
in logistics.
Skills:
- Logistics planning and execution
(transportation, warehousing, customs). - Vendor and contract management
(negotiation, performance monitoring). - Problem-solving and crisis management
in high-pressure environments. - Proficiency in logistics software
(ERP, TMS, Excel, SAP). - Strong communication and stakeholder management
(internal/external). - Knowledge of Algerian labor laws, customs regulations, and Oil & Gas logistics

Languages:
- Fluent in French and English
(mandatory). - Arabic
is a
strong plus
(for local coordination).
