NOV is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Field Support Specialist to join our expert team in Algeria. This is your chance to directly impact drilling operations, working with cutting-edge technology and delivering measurable value to clients in real-time.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will be the technical authority on-site, ensuring NOV drill bits and BHA tools perform at peak efficiency. Your responsibilities include:
- Monitor and optimize bit performance in real-time using ROP, torque, WOB, RPM, and vibration data.
- Diagnose and solve issues like bit balling, cutter breakage, or poor cleaning—fast and effectively.
- Conduct pre-run inspections
- Post-drilling responsibilities including recording drilling performance and inspection of bits and stabilizers
- Generate detailed Bit Run Reports for the client after every run, showcasing performance, observations, and recommendations.
- Internal & External Collaboration
- Internal: DSE Supervisor, Sales Account Manager
- External: Customer Rig-site Supervisors and Drilling Engineers
- Compliance:
Must be registered with ANEM.
You'll Also Be Expected To:
- Support NOV's integrated service offerings: Bits, Borehole Enlargement, and Coring (BBC).
- Provide technical input to Sales Account Managers and DSE Supervisors.
- Maintain strong relationships with rig-site supervisors and client engineers.
What You Bring
- Education: Engineering or Geology degree.
- Experience: 5+ years in oilfield operations, preferably with client-facing service/sales exposure.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert knowledge of drill bits, BHA components, and drilling hydraulics
- Familiarity with tools like Bit Browser, Bit Economics, and Insight
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
