Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer, you will take ownership of the infrastructure powering our platform, ensuring it is secure, resilient, and compliant. You will set up CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment processes, while working closely with backend, frontend, QA, and compliance teams to guarantee system reliability at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Setup

o  Deploy and secure environments: Development, Staging, Production.

o  Manage PostgreSQL (ledger) clustering/replication and Redis caching.

o  Configure load balancers, auto-scaling groups, and failover systems.

o  Implement secure secrets management.

  • CI/CD & Deployment

o  Build automated pipelines for testing and deployment.

o  Enforce code quality gates and safe rollbacks (blue/green, canary).

o  Guarantee zero-downtime updates during releases.

  • Security & Compliance

o  Manage encryption keys, JWT secrets, and signing keys.

o  Secure APIs with rate limiting, throttling, and firewall rules.

o  Ensure SSL/TLS everywhere and centralised logging for compliance.

o  Defend against DDoS and network-level threats.

o  Strong commitment to delivering solutions that proactively neutralise data exfiltration risks and data leaks.

  • Monitoring & Reliability

o  Deploy an observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog).

o  Configure alerts for payment failures, latency spikes, or anomalies.

o  Maintain disaster recovery plans and test backups regularly.

o  Define and test recovery time objectives (RTO/RPO).

  • Cost & Optimisation

o  Select a cloud/local hosting strategy that meets Algeria's data residency rules.

o  Optimise infrastructure for cost while maintaining reliability.

o  Monitor and control infra spend.

  • Collaboration & Culture

o  Work with the backend team to ensure ledger observability.

o  Coach developers on
DevSecOps best practices
.

o  Provide QA with reliable test environments.

o  Document and maintain incident response playbooks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years as a DevOps Engineer or SRE
    (required), preferably in fintech, banking, or telecom.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure
    (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and/or on-prem hosting (required).
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
    in production (required).
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Skilled in monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
  • Solid background in
    security practices
    (TLS, secrets, firewalls, API hardening).
  • Experience with
    high-availability, fault-tolerant systems
    .
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

Nice-to-Have

  • Previous experience in
    fintech or large-scale transactional platforms
    .
  • Familiarity with
    compliance requirements
    (KYC/AML, audit logging).
  • Knowledge of
    North African data hosting regulations
    .

Soft Skills

  • Highly organised and punctual, with strong time management.
  • Flexible to work extra hours or step in on weekends for urgent requirements.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ownership mentality with a proactive problem-solving approach.

Location

  • Based in Algeria (remote/hybrid possible).
  • Must collaborate daily with the local development team.

    – Conversation with leadership to assess cultural fit and long-term potential.
