We are a stealth-mode SaaS startup developing a next-generation collaboration platform for mission-critical B2B teams. Our product is designed for secure data management, automated workflows, and real-time communication at enterprise scale.

As we prepare for launch, we are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our founding team and help build the technical foundation of a platform built for global scalability.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing backend systems with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.

You will:

Architect and maintain scalable backend services supporting high-demand workloads.

Refactor and improve existing codebases using modern architectural practices.

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

Solve complex challenges such as large file processing, high concurrency, and real-time synchronization.

Optimize database schemas, queries, and caching strategies.

Manage and integrate AWS S3 buckets for large file storage and retrieval.

Ensure backend systems are secure, maintainable, and production-ready.

Required Skills & Tech Stack

Core Technologies

Python 3.9+ (required)

FastAPI (required)

Pydantic & SQLAlchemy (required)

PostgreSQL (required)

AWS S3 (required)

Docker, Git, CI/CD (preferred)

Fundamentals

Strong understanding of database design, indexing, and performance tuning

Experience with API design and integration (REST & GraphQL)

Familiarity with caching strategies (e.g., Redis)

Solid testing experience (unit & integration tests with Pytest or equivalent)

Candidate Profile

3+ years of professional backend development experience

Proven production experience with FastAPI

Hands-on experience with AWS S3 for file storage and processing

Strong problem-solving abilities in dynamic, fast-paced environments

Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering and product teams

Fluent in French, English, or Arabic
