Mobile Development Leader

Yassir is a leading super App in the Maghreb region, revolutionizing daily services delivery. Operating in 45 cities across Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia, with recent expansions into France, Canada, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

We offer on-demand services including ride-hailing and last-mile delivery, building infrastructure to introduce financial services for users to pay, save, and borrow digitally.

About Your Role

You will be a key figure in driving technical standards for Android applications across our consumer domain, working with multiple squads inside the domain. You will lead Android engineers, guiding tech roadmaps, architecture decisions, feature development, and release cycles. You will mentor junior developers, contribute to scaling up Android engineers, and bring great talents on board by conducting technical interviews.

• Design, build, and maintain features for domain applications.
• Provide technical leadership and manage dependencies.
• Conduct design and code reviews.
• Support team members with technical blockers, helping them grow professionally.
• Discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize efficiency.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions.
• Participate strongly in building the technical roadmap.
• Conduct technical interviews.
• Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
• At least 8 years of Android mobile engineering experience, with 3 years of Kotlin experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Possess problem-solving abilities and enjoy helping others meet their goals.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
• Substantial experience with Git in a team environment.
• Hands-on experience with mobile DevOps CI/CD tools.
• Experience working with different architectures.
• Ability to write testable code and unit tests.
• Prior experience publishing Android applications to the Store.
• Experience in a fast-growing startup within the on-demand services space is a plus.
