Job Description Summary
As a Project Director, you will be responsible for strategizing, planning, managing, and delivering turnkey projects in the MENAT region from transfer through to Provisional Acceptance Certificate. You will ensure that further business opportunities are pursued for grid automation scope of supply, driven by SQCD and LEAN approaches.
Your key objectives will include delivering high levels of customer satisfaction and maximizing margin value. Additionally, you will coach and support GA Project Managers to deliver complex turnkey projects profitably and in line with customer and business expectations.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for project delivery, profits & loss accountability and customer satisfaction on Turkey projects. Impacts project approaches for involved functions and organize the way of working.
- Impacts quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team. Has significant input into priorities. Consolidate execution summary of Turnkey activity for regular reporting to the management.
- Based on contract, develop and implement the overall strategy for execution of the project to achieve the project performance goals.
- Represents GA towards internal/ external customers; controls and manages these interfaces and relationship.
- Sets up and secure the necessary resources for project execution.
- Regularly monitors and reports the necessary KPI for Turkey segment in MENAT.
- Shares lesson learned on large and complex project to the teams involved on Turkey activity.
- Drive panel integration, platform activity and planning optimization in relationship with internal integration facilities and suppliers
- Identify and secure additional opportunities leveraging GEAT deal, deep customer understanding and needs, and good knowledge of GA portfolio
Integration Management
- Set-up project management plan (incl. strategy) adapted to Multi-Unit and Complex environment.
- Manage the changes and adapt the objectives & strategy accordingly.
- Organize and lead Gate reviews.
- Address project management issues (roadblocks, performance, etc...)
- Contribute significantly to project management process improvements and delivery processes at business level.
Scope Management
- Manage the entire GA project scope of work.
- Analyze customer requirements.
- Detect errors/inconsistencies within customer requirement. Propose solutions to reduce those gaps and lead the relevant negotiations,
Time Management
- Responsible for delivering the project on time.
- Produce and update Master project schedule.
- Produce and updates list of key milestones (incl. internal/external customers).
- Anticipate on-time delivery issues (documents, measure project progress and elaborate action plan).
Cost Management
- Take responsibility for the gross margin of the overall project for GA scope.
- Foresee costs & margins at completion.
- Identify cost discrepancies.
- Develop monthly sales forecast (in close cooperation with the project controller).
- Develop costs and revenue recovery plans.
- Optimize Costs and challenge productivity in all areas directly involved.
Communication Management
- Responsible for all aspects of communication within the project.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective and healthy communication.
- Manage ongoing working relationships with at top decision makers to ensure creative solutions and influence decision.
- Provide reporting to customer.
- Provide reporting to management.
Risk and opportunity Management
- Conduct Risk Sessions.
- Identify and implement risk mitigation plans.
- Proactively generate and manage opportunities.
- Identify business / projects risks and opportunities.
- Define action plan with R&D for quick correction of quality issues encounter by the team during project execution.
Contract and Suppliers Management
- Support for all aspects of contract management with the Customer, suppliers and partners for the overall project(s) with the support of the contract management team.
- Ensure full understanding of the Contractual requirements by project team.
- Build complex claim and VO's files involving different levels of Customer / Supplier(s) organization.
- Challenge & negotiate T&C's with the support of the contract manager, claims and VO's.
- Plan & follow procurement & delivery in coordination with procurement team and manufacturing units.
- Evaluate quality of deliveries: on-time deliveries, quality of products/systems supplied, quality of services supplied.
- Supply chain management include internal and external supplier, integration facilities, sub-suppliers.
Large Turnkey Project management leader for MENAT
- Support Sales and tendering teams to determine optimal execution setup/strategy for future Large Turnkey opportunities.
- Participate to business development with Sales team leading the actions on Large Turnkey segment.
- Centralized KPI for Turney project across MENAT region.
- Support and coach project managers to deliver project as planned (on time, on quality with expected margin and taking into account Turnkey business specificities).
- Participate to Project execution review for Turnkey projects in MENAT region.
- Facilitate and organize RoE between the different Turnkey project teams (quarterly review).
- Identify action plan to improve execution on large and complex project with engineering and project management teams (tools, process, etc.).
- Participate to technical review with product manager to understand new features under development (NPI)
Required Qualifications :
- Preferred 20+ years' experience in Project management (Project Management and/or engineering and/or supply chain and/or sourcing function).
- Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- A knowledge of systems integration businesses (i.e. solutions) is a must in Power, T&D industry focused on Automation, Telecom and Monitoring Systems.
- Ability to work, listen and convince in a multicultural environment and with functional influence in a matrix organization
- Excellent negotiation, leadership and influencing skills
- Capabilities to define a strategy and excellent project management skills
- Knowledge in economic performance evaluation
- Fluency in English, French and Arabic.
- No obstacle to travel across the region: 25%.
