Role Purpose
- To maintain and enhance professional development and academic quality in the teaching center, through the management of in-house teacher development programme and support.
- To promote and ensure quality teaching and effective learning of English.
- To provide learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience.
- To support the wider aims of British Council and its cultural relations mission.
Main Accountabilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups taking into account individual learning needs and modes of learning.
- Ensure teaching meets British Council Global Teaching Standards, as well as organisational and learner expectations.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students' performance throughout their learning, and actively promote learner autonomy and progress.
- Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning, and maintain British Council's position at the forefront of best ELT practices.
- Support teaching centre's activities and British Council plans.
- Attend staff meetings and otherwise contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services, in order to meet students' needs by actively working as a member of the teaching team.
- Support local marketing and promotional strategy, and assist the teaching centre team in delivering excellent customer service through dissemination of information and communications with students.
- Complete teaching related administrative tasks to specified standards and uphold professional responsibilities and values. Ensure British Council's values and behaviours are reflected in their work.
Qualifications
Essentials
- Bachelor's degree (any discipline)
- Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL.

Salary & Benefits
- Salary: 67, ,408 DZ/ month Gross (Depending based on work experience and qualification)
- Meal Allowance: DZD 3,300
- Transportation Allowance: DZD 1,320
- Medical Insurance for Self or Family: 1.5% of the basic salary.
Additional Information:
- Contract Duration: 1 Year Fixed Term Renewable
- Working Hours 25/week: 16 Teaching hours + 8 Planning hours planning + 1 hours Admin
- Tentative start date: 1st October 2024
- Work Schedule: 5 working days a week depending on business requirements.
- Annual leave: 35 annual leaves and 14 public holiday
