The Assistant Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Officer plays a key role in aligning livelihoods and economic inclusion efforts with the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR). This position focuses on promoting the economic inclusion of refugees to enhance self-reliance and support host countries, contributing to Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

The Assistant Officer will work on:

  • Advocacy for refugees' right to work and access to economic opportunities
  • Building partnerships with private sector, government institutions, and specialized agencies
  • Enhancing livelihood and economic inclusion programs through evidence-based approaches

The ideal candidate should be proactive, innovative, and skilled in mobilizing donors and partners. They will collaborate with various teams and external stakeholders to drive livelihood and economic inclusion initiatives.

Duties:

  • Explore partnerships for economic inclusion of refugees
  • Advocate for policy reforms to improve refugee economic inclusion
  • Coordinate information sharing among stakeholders
  • Conduct assessments to identify funding opportunities for refugees' economic integration
  • Provide technical assistance and support livelihood interventions
  • Identify and manage risks impacting project objectives
  • Perform related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Professional Work Experience
For P1/NOA - 1 year relevant experience with an Undergraduate degree, or no experience with a Graduate/Doctorate degree
Field(s) of Education:
Business Management, Socio-Economic Development, Economics, and related fields
Relevant Job Experience:
Experience in economic inclusion initiatives, partnership building, and engagement with various stakeholders

Desired Candidate Profile
  • Experience in managing livelihood and development projects
  • Skills in project assessment, coordination, and reporting
  • Proficiency in English, Arabic, French, and Spanish
Languages:
  • English (mandatory), Arabic, French, Spanish (desired)
